hsv427concept56002.jpg Holden Special Vehicles’ star attraction from last month’s Melbourne Motor Show, the Corvette ZO6-powered W427 super-saloon, could soon be terrorising motorists in the UK as the car is currently under evaluation by Vauxhall.

The General Motors UK division already sells rebadged versions of the HSV R8 in the UK as the VXR8 and now executives are considering adding the 7.0L monster as a new flagship.

The new car is expected to be priced at about £55,000 ($116,000) when it goes on sale in September – undercutting the expected price of the Aussie version by more than $20,000 according to early pricing estimates.

UK magazine AutoExpress also claims the car will output close 411kW and 640Nm of torque.

With these numbers the car will be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds and easily reach an electronically controlled top speed of 250km/h. This puts it in BMW M5 and Audi RS6 territory, the exact segment HSV and Vauxhall are targeting for the new model.

A company spokesman revealed the car is in the early stages of development and it will feature a number of components developed from the racing version.

Performance features of the concept include a carbon fiber rear spoiler, six-piston brakes, 20in wheels, a custom induction system and an uprated limited-slip differential, clutch and Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual gearbox.

The W427 was also equipped with Magnetic Ride Suspension but it’s unclear what specifications the UK model will have.
