Lamborghini has once again teamed up with Italian fashion house Versace to create a special edition package for its Murcielago LP640 Roadster plus a range of new accessories. Versace, Lamborghini’s Centro Stile and specialists from the ‘ad personam’ personalisation project worked together to create the new edition’s unique interior fittings and exterior colour schemes. Like the Versace Murcielago LP640 revealed two years ago, the Roadster is expected to be available for Australian delivery upon its release.

The cars will be produced to order and include a unique pastel white livery, Versace Greek key motifs on the lower part of the doors and a transparent engine cover protecting the mid-mounted V12. The sport seats are clad in black and white leather, while hand-stitched motifs adorn the instrument panel, doors and central console.

Like all Murcielago LP640 cars, power for the stylish Roadster comes from the standard LP640-spec 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 471kW and 660Nm of torque. Other mechanical elements are also the same confidence-inspiring, high-performance pieces standard to the LP640 line.

The new car will have a few advantages over its hard-top Versace sibling, however, since an update for 2008 added the option of an iPod and USB connection, satellite navigation and perforated leather for the steering wheel, which can be had with a new carbon fibre weave that lines its base and the gear levers in models equipped with the e-gear transmission.

Because of the built-to-order nature of the cars and the involvement of Lamborghini’s in-house ‘ad personam’ customisation team, each Versace Roadster is sure to be unique, with the fundamental elements of the new design forming the canvas upon which the buyer will paint their own unique image of what they think a Lamborghini should be.

Accessories available
Inspired by the minimalist lines of the engine bay cover, the Versace Collection LP640 range of merchandise were previewed for the first time globally in the world’s fashion capital, Milan, on Monday.

The accessories range includes a trolley bag, suit carrier, sports bag, as well as a briefcase, suitcase, gloves, driving shoes, belt, wallet, key ring, beauty case, hat and a pair of jeans. Each of the line’s items carries a unique palladium tag engraved with both the Versace and Lamborghini logos.

The collection will be available overseas through Versace boutiques and select Lamborghini showrooms starting in November, however Australian release dates are yet to be confirmed.
