While the two features provide very different functionality, they both cooperate with the car’s routing system to enhance the accuracy and ease with which a course can be selected and negotiated. The Suna Traffic Channel keeps the system up to date with breaking road conditions, including accidents, weather and traffic snarls. The Sensis Whereis Version 15 map data, on the other hand, provides the most current roads and features map content available.
How Suna Traffic Channel works with the onboard sat-nav The information displayed can include a great deal of detail, including how long the expected traffic delay along a given route may be, the nature of the delay, and even the recalculated arrival time. If the driver chooses, the system can re-route around the obstruction. The system is also highly configurable in how it displays on-screen information.
Advantages of the Sensis Wheres Version 15 map data Newly constructed roads, such as the EastLink tollway in Melbourne and the Lane Cove Tunnel in Sydney, are now properly recognised and displayed. The most up to date listing of red light and fixed speed cameras throughout Australia is also included, and the new data also lists the road speed data for most major highways and the metro areas. The new navigation system is available on all FG Falcon sedans and the FG Falcon Ute XR6, XR6 Turbo and XR8 models. Recommended retail pricing for the option, which includes the Suna Traffic Channel and updated map data is $2,290. | |
