Mini will unveil an all-electric version of its two-door
Cooper hatch at next month's Los Angeles Auto Show, and plans to deliver an
initial batch of 500 examples to customers in California towards the end of the
year. While the test batch won't be making it to Australian shores, the
electric Mini cars, called the 'Mini E', will be instrumental in evaluating the viability of
production electric Minis - which could stand a chance of coming to Australia.

streamlined shape with new head and taillights and plenty of dramatic
character lines. The chrome-laden front end of the current version will
also likely be toned down somewhat for the next-generation, though the

of the upgrades will be happening beneath the surface.

generation of BMW’s Mini.
Next year's launch of the next-generation 5-series will prove critical for BMW, as arch rival Mercedes-Benz is expected to unveil its updated E-Class around the same time. The perennial battle between the two luxury heavyweights will only grow more intense as the two models go head-to-head in the shrinking market for large luxury sedans.

vehicles such as the crossover utility vehicle, the sports activity
vehicle and the more established SUV, the PAS is expected to add a more
car-like capable element to BMW’s already extensive lineup of soft-roaders.
